After reading 47 pages of the book, really like it so far!! This book was so different than I thought it was going to be like. I didn’t really believe the librarians when they said it was a funny book. How can a book about an Indian boy living in a poor reservation be funny? But when I started reading it, I actually forgot about that whole reservation part. Junior, the main character of the book, is so funny! But I think that it’s really sad how everyone picks on him just because he was born with a whole bunch of medical problems. Whenever the older kids pick on him, his best friend Rowdy always gets them back and defends his friend. It’s kind of ironic how a big, tough guy like Rowdy is best friends with the biggest loser on the reservation. Even though Junior is considered a freak, he is still really funny! He always draws these cool cartoons about what happens to him in his life.

I can’t believe he threw a book at his teacher! It was kind of confusing when Mr. P. came to his house while he was still suspended and started talking to him about his sister. At first, I didn’t get what the point of the teacher coming to Junior’s house was, but when I kept on reading it, it started making sense. He came to his house to ask Junior why he would throw a book at him. He started talking about Junior’s sister because he didn’t want Junior to give up hope like his sister did.

I think that Junior was right to listen to Mr. P and tell his parents that he wanted to go to Reardan, the all white school. The surprising thing is his parents said ok right away and didn’t even have to think about the answer. Why would he want to do that? People will pick on him even more at his new than they did at his reservation. Would he make any new friends at that school? I guess I’ll just to have to read more to find out : ]

Well so far I think this book is the funnist book i have read this year or ever. Not only is the context funny but some of the cartoons that are drawn by the main character Junior, are funny as well.So far in the book , i found out that Junior gets picked on alot(no really he gets picked on ALOT).He also during the chapters that i have read has to make a very big decision, that may affect him for the rest of his life.Junior though has to worry about the consequences that may follow after every decision that he makes, Junior also during these chapters has not only showed that he is funny, but he has already developed into a charater that i seem to know alot about only by reading a couple of chapters. Also i could say say that Junior is really brave and very mature for making important decisions that may help him and his family in the long run.So far i think the book is GREAT, it is very, very, but very funny. Not only is the book funny but it is interesting, and once you start is also interesting, because there is always some action in every chapter, and also so many funny and interesting facts that have to do with Juniors life. I cant wait to find out what happens to Juniorin the next chapters, that i know will be very interesting to read. !!!!!!!

Adela L.-- So far, I think this is a very good book. The main character, Junior, is very funny. The book is even funnier because of all the drawings he draws. Even if he has physical problems, he is still funny and the author knows how to get people's attention.
I feel sorry for him that he is so poor and he doesn't get a very good education. When I heard about his teacher, Mr. P, I started laughing. I laughed even more when I saw the picture. The way the story is told is making the story even funnier and seriously, how can a teacher come to school in his pajamas? Other times, he even forgets to come to school. The students had to go get the teacher so they can learn something.
Other than funny, this book is also exciting and interesting. For the first chapters, I couldn't put it down because I wanted to read more and find our what will happen to Junior next. I think it will make other people read it and once they start reading it, they won't be able to stop. I can't wait to see what will happen to Junior!

So far in the book, I really liked it because it was so funny. I love the drawings in the book, which makes it fun to read. Junior, gets picks on alot by other kids about his medical problems with his brain. I feel bad for him because he has to go through being made fun of about something really serious. I think because of everyone making fun of him, he makes fun of himeself, by drawing crazy pictures of himself.

I was wondering how Mr. P could forgive Junior for throwing a book at his face! which got him suspended. I was also wondering what Mr. P sees in Junior because he tells him that he feels Junior is different than the others and he knows that he can make it.

I can relate to Junior, because when I was doing bad in school, alot of my family members persistanly told me that they had hope in me and that i could make it, like Mr. P to Junior.

I'm really starting to like the book, and am excited to continue reading and find out what happens to Junior. The book is really funny and i love the drawings!

After reading the next chapters of the book, i think that this book keeps getting even more interesting after every page. During these chapters i learned even more about the main charcter Junior, and about the people in his life.I also connected to Junior, because i moved twice, and i went through what Junior is going through when he goes to his new school. Not only is this book interesting, but it can relate to alot of teenagers, because Junior faces similar problems we as teenagers face. This book also has good details, that help the reader picture the story in there head easily, and in this book there are even some of the funnist drawings that go along with the text, which really gives you a even bigger idea of what is going on in the book. So far though i think the book is really good, because the author uses some good details, and so many funny and interesting facts that just make you keep on reading the book (nonstop). So in the next chapters or for the rest of the book i hope the book keeps on staying interesting and funny.

So far the book is really funny. The main character, Junior, has brain damage but it doesn't seem like he does. He is a good cartoonist. He gets picked on a lot, but his best friend Rowdy is always there for him. It's interesting how they are friends but i think it's because they understand each other and they both got their own problems.

I think it is a good thing that Junior listened to Mr.P when he leaves the rez and goes to Reardan. I think that he won't be picked on at Reardan because everyone doesn't know him. I also think that he will get good grades.

I think that the book is going to get funnier and more exciting.

When I found out about Junior's decision about Reardan, I knew the other Indians will get mad when they found out. I wasn't very surprised by how Rowdy reacted when Junior said he's going to Reardan. I also think Junior is really brave when he decides to go to Reardan because he might be the only Indian there and probably, a lot of kids will pick on him.
I think Junior made a good decision by going to Reardan. Now, he has a chance of becoming somebody. When Rowdy is no longer there to defend him, Junior does something interesting and it works for Roger, one of the “Giants”. Now, Junior gets some respect and he is no longer the guy that everyone makes fun of. When he says the things he thinks, like contradicting Mr. Dodge, he makes a friend named Gordy. I think it was very important that he spoke up for himself.
As I read more about Junior's experiences at Reardan, I found this book more interesting and funnier. The cartoons Junior draws are also funny. I think people can learn a lot of things from this book and from Junior. I will just keep reading more to see what are the next things that will happen to Junior.

I am really enjoying the book so far. I think that Junior is really brave to have gone to an all white school because he knew that everyone at his school would be angry with him, which ended up happening. I think that it was really bad how Rowdy treated Junior after he started going to Reardan. Just because he was going to an all white school doesn’t mean he wasn’t the same person that he always was.

I think that most people who have moved to different schools can related to Junior, and since he’s Indian, it just makes things a lot worse. Fitting in was always a problem for Junior and so he probably thought it was going to be a lot worse in Reardan.

I think that this book had a lot of lessons in it. One of the lessons that I think is the most important is that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Junior learned that by making friends that he never imagined talking to at first. Junior is not the only one who learned this lesson. I think that some of the friends that Junior made also learned that. I think that because so many of the white kids are racist and didn’t even want to talk to Junior when they first met him. They thought of him as different in a bad way. But once they started talking to him, they realized what a nice person he was.

Even though things are going really well with Junior so far, I think that all of that will change as a continue reading. But for now, I have to say that this book is really funny and interesting at the same time!! : ]

As i keep on reading this book, the more i think and say that it is very interesting and funny. This book isnt only funny but it also has lessons that we can all learn. It also shows Junior go through alot of situations, that we go through or have experienced. This book so far has made me realize that an author can write a book thats funny, but that also has some serious topics and lessons that we can learn from. Also that has real life situations that we all go through. It also has so much detail, about the characters and about the setting that it makes it easier to picture the story in your head, whcih makes it even more enjoyable to read.Sofar in the book i could totally relate to Junior, especially in the fact the he has changed schools, and so have i. Also that Junior thought that his new school would treat him badly, and that he wouldnt fit in, but in the end he gets through it.That happened to me , i thought that i would be treated badly, but a few days later it was ok and it kept getting better and better. Hopefully it keeps getting better for Junior at his new school, just like it did for me. So far though the book is totally amazing, and i am really enjoying it, and i hope that in the rest of the book it is still interesting and funny. =)

As i continued reading on, i thought the book became more interesting. The drawings made the story more enjoyable. It was starting to get really funny and i kept wanting to read on.

I could connect to Junior because I moved many times from house to house, which meant i had to switch schools a lot. It was really hard and I hated it, like Junior hated it.
I felt really bad for Junior because a lot of people were racist against him, but after they got to know him they became his friend, which made him stronger.

I think the books getting good and I'm excited to keep reading further. (:

This book was full of humor that was always present through out the whole book, and on every page. Which made it enjoyable to read, and also very interesting, because not only was the context funny but so were all the cartoons drawn by the main charater Junior.Well this book also had sooo many topics that we has teenagers or even adults can relate to.But in my opinion i loved this book and i really enjoyed reading it. !!!! =)

Now that I am done with the book, I would say that this is a very funny, interesting and exciting book. I think that Junior was a very brave boy seeing how he reacted to a lot of things. First of all, he didn't do anything stupid when he found out about his sister getting married. Another thing that he did and I thought was brave of him was trying out for the basketball team at Reardan. He thought to himself that he wouldn't make it, but he actually made the varsity. He was also brave to go to Reardan, even though he didn't have a ride most of the time. I think the picture where it shows how he sometimes walks, hitchhikes or gets a ride to school is funny. Also, sometimes there is no money for gas, so he has to walk home.
The first time he talked to Penelope, he sounded kind of stupid because he said he has two names. He wasn't afraid to go for what he wanted, so he got a lot of things. Also when he fought Roger, Roger respected him and started being friends with him.
Even Junior went through a lot of sad things in his life, the author did not make the book sad. Instead, he found ways to make it more exciting and more interesting.
I think the author did a very good job how he finished the book because after Reardan played Rowdy's school and what happened, I thought the book will be over. Instead, the author did something else. Like I said before, this is a very funny, exciting, and interesting book and also one of the best books I read. I am glad I chose this book. I would recommend it to everyone!

After finishing the book, i really enjoyed it, and would recommend the book to other people. Junior turned out to become someone that i didn't expect by the end of the book. He changed, which made him stronger and braver. He had to change schools, and he was always made fun of, especially at his new school. But at the end he had made alot of friends. He had gone throught many things during his adventure at his new school, like making the basketball team which he thought was impossible and finding out about his sisters marriage which he didnt approve of. Junior started talking to girls, although he was uncomfortable it was a big change that he had the courage to go up to her.
The pictures made the book more easily to visual what was going on, and i laughed allot while going through the drawings. Im really glad that i read this book, because it kept my attention while reading and it was one of my favorite books. Now when I look for books to consider reading I would look at Sherman Alexie's books. Read The Absolutely True Diary of a part-Time Indian, if you want a funny and interesting book (:

The book got more interesting as I read. it is still really funny and his cartoons make it funnier.

Junior moved to Reardan and I don't know what that is like but from reading the book i could tell it was tough for Junior. At first people made fun of him because he's the only Indian there, and i felt bad for him. A lot of people can connect to that. When he does make friends he felt better about himself and it's a good thing that he did make friends.

I think that the book keeps getting better.

Now that i finished the book,I really liked it.It was really funny and his cartoons connect to what was going on. This book always made me want to read more and i finished the book in 1 week. I would recommend this book to all my friends. I think that many kids can relate to this book and learn somethings.
Junior struggles at somethings but then in the end i think he's different because he doesn't get made fun,he has a lot of friends and he can talk to girls even though he might be shy. I think it is a good thing that Rowdy and Junior are friends again.

I like this book so far. I know of some other things Sherman Alexie has done and I think he is funny. He brings characters to his books that are real but he always uses the same two main characters. There is always a nerdy, shy, lonly kid that gets beat up or made fun of alot-in other words Junior. The other is always a strong, almost stoic character-like Rowdy.
In the beggining they are best friends-but due to there different goals, split up. Junior is smarter than the most of the people on his reservation. He is a cartoonist and wants to get out, desperatly.
With the help of his math teacher, who pays him a visit at home after he got his nose smashed in by a book, helps Junior relize his potential.
Junior is faced with a decision. Should he leave the reservation and go to school in the near by school or stay on the reservation and throw his life away like the rest of his family.
Ultmatly he decides that he needs to leave. It would be his only chance to get away and make something of himself.
Once in his new school, he finds he is still the outcast. The local jocks give him a hard time until he applies his fighting rules, learned on the reservation. He gains there respect but no one elce seems to care.
He seeks the freindship of the local boygenious, named Gordy. Gordy is his only friend and helps him through school.
That is as far as I got but I like the book so far. He is really funny and the cartoons help you see what he is going through.
I know from family expernce that it is hard to leave the reservation. If you leave people begin to say you betrayed your own people when you only wanted to better yourself. Most people dont have that drive but some still do.
I think Junior is brave for what he did, and most of Sherman Alexie's books are based off of life experences he had, so maybe he felt this way. But it was still brave.
