I think the book "I Am The Messenger" is good yet so far confusing. I think it's a good book because it makes you think.
In the beginning during the bank robbery, I was just confused on how random it was. Then when Ed got a playing card in the mail with 3 random adresses after the bank robbery, a thrill smacked me in the face because it felt mysteriousy.

When Ed went to visit the first adress, I was shocked by what was going on at the house with the family and the situated problem. I felt bad for the little girl because while her dad was raping her mom upstairs, the little girl just ran outside on the porch crying.

Next when Ed visited the second adress on the card, I felt sad. I felt sad because the old woman has been waiting for her husband for 60
years yet he's been dead. She's also been calling Ed 'Jimmy' and Jimmy's the name of her husband.

When Ed visits the third house at first, I'm like nothing can go wrong in a wrong neighborhood that nice. Then Sophie comes and the author builds up her character of who she is. Sophie runs track in supposed good-luck shoes which ar worn out. Ed watched her everyday in the morning of her running-but she runs best barefoot. So Ed thinks then tells her hints that she's better off running barfoot during her races.

The book is good so far. I hope more mystery comes out of the book and I also hope that the veil of the person sending the cards shows up later on too.

The book is so far so good. I do get confused at times when it backs from his card story to him playing cards with his friends. The story does get interesting as it goes on. The hint that is given by Ed to Sophie is far very intelligent. This story can be related to an actual life story. Giving everyone courage that if an underage cab driver can do it why cant we.
Even though picking up a gun and chasing a robber down is pretty shocking.

The book is yet to reveal why he has been chosen to be the messenger. And who is behind all of this? Will the bank robber get revenge on Ed?
I think the book is yet to reveal the biggest mystery of all.Maybe the Next card will show the biggest mystery.

Yes I agree. The book is really interesting and mysterious. I liked it so far, and I want to know what happens next, and who is the person that is sending the cards to Ed? And is that person realted to him? The beginning of the book was a good start and it made me think. My favorite character was the bank robber because he didn't really know what he was doing, and I felt bad for him. I also want to know why Ed is called "the messenger."

Answer to Tayyba's question why is he called the messenger, the answer is that on each of the addresses tells him to deliver a message. It is a message sent indirectly to help other people who are in need. Also, this book is getting very suspicious as the book goes on. Ed does not understand what is going on and why he has been chosen to be the messenger. The second card arrives as he doe not know what it is this time. Whether it is helping someone or killing/hurting someone. All the Ace card had on it was, "Say a prayer at the stones of home."

No clue what is going or what will be happening on at the stones of homes. I am very encouraged to read on as i want to read a head.

The people that came to his house while he was sleeping were nice to him, even though they weren't supposed to be. If the person who is behind all this is not the bank robber because Ed would have recognized his voice. I'm happy that the family who lives on Edgar Street are happy now.

I think that whoever is sending the cards knows about Ed's past life, because in the book it says only him and his brother knew about the stones of home. I think when they were younger, someone used to spy on them, and that's how they found out. Otherwise, it's just a coincedence. I'm really getting into the book, and I love it. I can't wait to finish it up, and find out what happens.

So far, the book has been good.
It was weird how the two men who were indside Ed's house were being nice a little when they weren't supposed to be. I like how Sophie visits Ed but it's a little wrong yet heart warming. Well, Ed gets a new card but it has no adresses. It just has a quote and Ed has no idea what it means but he's trying to find out. Meanwhile, him and Audrey have been on a low profile.

I'm wondering what will happen in the book next. I hope it gets much more suspenceful than it already it.

"I Am The Messenger"
is by far going good.
I just finished reading
where he is almost done with the second mission of the seconds card. I like the missions on the second card more than the first card. I liked how an ice cream cone means alot to one person. It's funny how the two brothers fought each other then the way they can bond is by fighting together and beating up Ed. The mission that touched me most was the one where he meets the preist and Ed helps the preist get more people to come to his church. '

I wonder what'll happen next in the story.
I always ask myself the question:
Who's sending Ed these cards?

This book is getting very mysterious as it goes on and some what confusing. I think that his brother is the one who is behind all of this. The reason is because he is the only person who knew e the past about the stones of home. The reason is because he wants Ed to make his village better. Ed's brother is the one who has the knowledge. He knows that his brother is capable of doing all this.

That is my assumption but we can never be sure what is yet to happen next.I sure hope at the end the book reveals who the mysterious person is!

I think that it might be his brother who's behind all of this, but he told Ed that he didn't send the card to him so I think that there's more than one person behind this, you know, they are probably working together. I liked the part where he helps the woman and buys her an icecream. I also liked the part with the priest, but I don't get how he helped the two brothers...
I love this book! It's so suspensful and mysterious, and it keeps getting better.

I have about 30 pages to go and this book is getting really starting to confuse me even more. The third card has three movie names on it.Each movie has something related to his friends, Ritchie, Marv, and Audrey. The person who is behind all this is someone who knows Ed pretty well. Or has been looking at him the past couple of weeks.I am eagerly waiting to read ahead. The brother might have lied to Ed when he had asked him. Also the bank robber did say he will get his revenge. It might have something to do with him sending those cards.

my perspective of the book is the same. good book. i feel that ed needs some comforting for himself and he can lay-off the missions though he can't. i have some suspisions on who might be sending the cards to ed. obviously it has to be someone who has known him for a somewhat long time. it can be his mom probably or brother or bank robber somewhat. i hope to find out soon though on who the person sending the cards is.

I was totally shocked by the ending of the book. How the person sending the card was totally amazing. I had never expected that there would be more to the story other than the bank robber. The book was amazing very enjoying and heart taking. The last card kind of threw me off for a while, and confused me.

I thought the book would just end at him receiving cards and sending the messages. The ending connected very well to the whole story. Ed is the messenger delivering the messages to the people in need.

This book was suspenseful. You didn't know who was the person sending the messages till the end. Also, each individual message has its own level of suspense, is it going to be dangerous? What will be the end result? This suspense will keep you reading. I loved how it ended and when he said "I'm not the messenger,I am the message." He's the message because if he could have done all those things then everyone could do it. everyone should learn something from Ed. But I still don't get why he killed his father?

*SPOILER*
I'll still not give too much away. Honest.

I recomend you read the book again afterwards for the lulz. Its an awesome reading when you realise...

The Messenger (I am the Messenger overseas) is a POSTMODERN text. As such Ed Kennedy, the doorman and everyone in this book is not real. they are constructs, created by the author to get a 'message' across.

Therefore: if the book, and everything in it, is a message - Who is the messanger?

(go on, M.Z. has been poking fun at us since the front cover :D )
