So far this book is really interesting. Even though when you 1st start to read it , it confuses you because it starts with Kyle one of the main characters and he is telling his story. But as you get into the story more you understand what he is talking about. I like it when it gives flashbacks because it gives me more information , that helps me get whats going on. so far this book is really good ; i like all the detail the author of the book gives . I agreee with what James Patterson said " A smart, Scary tale that moves like a bullet train."
i might not know much of the story yet but so far i do agree with what he said. After reading some of the story i have some questions with no answer yet, but the more i read the more my questions are answered.

- This book is good and interesting so far ; it keeps me reading :]

So far this book is really good. At first it starts with Kyle David's older brother who already graduated from high school, it confused me at first because there were different chapters for each character. In some chapters they give us flashbacks like in Tuesday With Morrie and it makes me understand the book more. The author gives so much detail to make you feel like your the one in this position, but if I was in Cass's position I would've never done anything stupid to turn up like her. I can't wait to keep reading on.

This book has been really good and confusing but, as I keep reading it reveals more information that helps you understand more of the situation. The parts that confuse me a little is when they bounce from character to character. Also,
it's very disturbing to find that Kyle would want to bury Cass alive.Cass is in such a scary situation.
Cass' situation reminds me of plenty of shows on TV where a main cahracter is buried alive fighting for their life underground. The whole situation is mind-boggling and the people who put them underground is very frightening.
kyle is very cruel to be doing such a thing to Cass. Cass at this point also doesn't completely realize why she is in this box.

I agree with all three girls this book is good but it also is confusing. It confuses me in the begin of the book because we don't know what is going one and it jumps from one character to another. The more you read though the more things become more clear and you start to understand it more. This book also gives flashbacks and those help because more information is revealed. Just like Josselyn said I have questions with no answer yet, but the more I read the more the questions are going to get answered.

I like the book 'What Happened To Cass McBride' so far. At first when I was reading the book, it was a bit confusing because the book is told in three persepectives. Those people are Kyle, Cass, and Ben. So far I've learned that Kyle is a sibling of a boy named David. David killed himself because Cass 'rejected' him on a date by finding out on a note. And all I know about Ben is that he's a detective/crime scene man. I like the book alot so far. It has it's ups and downs and chills run through me whenever I read it page to page. I wonder what'll happen to Cass and everyone else as I read on in the story.

Even though I have just stated reading this book I think it is really great. I love the good imagery. I can see the scene when Fever is chopping the heads off of the fish's. This book also has lots of detail. I think this book will be one that I can not put down because it is that good.

In some ways this book has some good comedy. like when Fever is trying to push all of the mothers cats away. Another part that is pretty funny to me is when Wyatt goes outside in his underwear and steps on the garden knome.

Why do you think fever has only returned home 2 times?

yes, this book is confusing when you first start reading, but it gets a lot more clear. I love how it changes characters and puts you in their position. It gives you a better feel of what the character is really thinking and what is really going through there head. This book is creepy but really clever. It's not your everyday "get revenge" story.

So far this book is really good i really enjoyt it. The beginning of the book is vary confusing. Kyle brought Cass Mcbride to a gerrnhouse. She starts to get dizzy because he gave her pillz. Cass doesnt casre about others. She feels the world revolves around her.

The story so far is really good. I think that the book is really interesting. However, the I don't really get when they go back and forth. Like theirs flashbacks and then the go back to the present then the past . If i was in Cass's position i would be really scared i cant imagine being inside a box buried alive that's just really scary. The characters david nad kyle kind of confuses me too.

However the book is really good so far. =]

So far as I get more and more into the book, i'm kind of confused and loving it at the same time. If I was in Cass's position I would be really freaked out because I can't survive without food or water for about a day. I dont get why Kyle even buried her alive, but I think it's not really Cass's fault it's someone else that hurt David as to why he died. I dont really know who it is but im pretty sure it's not Cass. As the chapters go on and on, the author makes you feel like your actually in their position and makes you feel like them. I just dont get why someone like Kyle would go this far for revenge, he should not hold a grudge against her. This book is not your everday "revenge" story, that's why im still reading this book. I can't wait to find out if Cass will get out or not.

Kyle is crazy. How he can think of this stuff, I don't know, but it's really creepy. I like how Kyle comes across as the last person to do something like this. He was described as being quite and keeps to himself. I agree with Chelza about how it goes back and forth, I don't like that either. I think this kid has a lot of problems and i can't wait to see what happens in the end.

i think the book is really interesting and it is a really good book. I think Kyle is out of his mind i mean like how could he do this to Cass. It wasn't really her fault why David killed himself. I'm really like proud of Cass how shes dealing with situation like she thinking how to talk to Kyle and deal with the problems. If i was in Cass position I would be really scared and I wouldn't know what to do.

I'm so curios whats going to happened to her in the endd!!..

Cass I believe is a very mentally srong person, but she thinks things are ll about her. She doesn't show very much love like her mother would say. So far I've learned about her mother and how Cass' father runs things his way. I'd find it difficult to strive to have her father accept her and she'd have to prove to him. So far I don't really think that David killed himself just because of the note Cass wrote.I still cannot believe how Kyle could think of such thing. It's just simply a creepy book so far. The book feels dark and scary as i read it.it's a creepy tale I wouldn't read before i go to bed.

Penny P. - Period 6 said...

I agree with most of the people, I think Kyle is crazy too like the way he thinks and everything. This book still continues to go back and forth with flashbacks. I have had several questions answered from before but s I keep reading I still want more of my question to get answered. This isn't my favorite book but I can say this book is good it wasn't what i expected it to be.

So far i agree With Natalie
Kyle is crazy.Everything Kyle is doing is really creepy because i can never imagen someone thinking about doing this to a person just because of what a stupid inmature girl wrote , but then again some people think different than everyone. I like how Cass thinks positive enough though she knows she is in a box. Another thing i like is how she knows the right thing to know like in page 100 when she said "i know what my fear is. I need to know yours." Now that is crazy cause i would probably be going crazy if i was in her position. i can't wait to get to the end , and get to know everything that happened. i also agree with Natalie and Chelza about the changing of characters back and forth, but so far i like it. Its amazing :]

Now that I've gotten a little further into the book, i really LOVE it. I've learned so much about Kyle's backround on his family and David. I've also learned on Cass' backround on her mother and father and how they weren't really alike. I think it's cruel that Cass's dad uses her to make HIM look good. When I learned about the problems with David and his mom, it makes me think that he didn't only kill himself after he read Cass' note. The detectives story lags on though. I really feel the chracters emotions in this book. This book is full of mystery and I like it. I can't wait to get to the end of the book!

As I get further in to the book, it gets so much more interesting. But when you start reading it, it confuses you a little because in each chapter a different person talks about what happened to David. But so far, the book is really good and it gets more interesting and intense.

Elizabeth Q.-Per. 3 said...

I am really enjoying this book, I think all the characters are very interesting, especially Kyle. For starters I think Kyle is crazy for kidnapping Cass because it's not Cass's fault that Kyles younger brother, David, hung himself from a tree, it is a choice that David made and no one told him to do it. And Kyle is making Cass suffer by burring her in a coffin underground just like David, and I think that's so wrong and scary.

Kyle buried Cass alive and Cass was dehydrated. Kyle was telling her that he gave her drugs on friday and she he almost thought he killed her. It was late so kyle told her was leaving and Cass was having a hard time relaxing and calming down. She couldn't move and was sweating. Cass wrote a letter to Erica about how David Kurby was such a dork. She wrote the letter, folded it, and put it in her desk. Erika sits in the same desk next period so she can read it. Cass noticed that David walked toward the desk, opened it, and slid the note into his pocket.
"I never thought a few careless words scrawled on a piece of paper could put two people in graves."
Cass McBride was popular. People wanted to be just like her. All of the guys were out of her league except the ones who were captain of a team.
David Kirby hung himself that night. Pined to his flesh was the note that Cass meant to give to Erica.

Cass wants to become the first junior to become homecoming queen. Cass made a deal with derek and the deal was that if they pretended to date they could win homecoming king and queen. Casses school held interviews for anyone who knew her. There was another letter pined on davids skin.
"Words are teeth. And they eat me alive. Feed on my corpse." Kyle and David had a rough childhood. They didn't get along with there mother. Kyle tells Cass to explain how David asked her out. Kyle gets angry at what Cass says and he starts to stomp and pound on Casses coffin.

This book keeps getting better and better ; i'm starting to love it. I like how it gives alot of details which gives you the chance to imagen the scene and you also have the chance to actually get to picture how angry or how scared the character is. Before i didnt like the changing of characters as you read but now i actually like it. I think that the way David killed himself was really harsh and sad , also it took me time to get who the note on his body was for. I also think that his mother was a bad mother for treating her kids the way she treated them.
I like this book so far , i only have one thing in mind and that is if Cass is going to die in the box.

Per.6 [Entry #3]

As far as I am in the book right now, I can't wait to finish it. I like how it gives you a lot of details to feel how the characters are feeling. I now get why a person like David would ask out Cass, it's all because of one person. I feel bad for the way David killed himself. As I see it, it's all because of his stupid mom it's not Cass's fault at all. I still think it's insane how Kyle locked her up in a box and buried her, he could've took revenge on her some other way. Anyways, the so-called "mother" in this book is HORRIBLE. She treats Kyle really good and David like he's some piece of trash. I mean little kids do stupid stuff, your not suppose to punish them for it. I can't believe that their father won't even stop the mother when she's doing all this. All in all, i think David commited suicide because of his mother. I can't wait to see what happens [:

Natalie Martinez said...

period 6 entry 3

I really like how Cass is a strong character. She knows that she needs to find Kyle's weakness and so far, she's doing a pretty good job finding it. I just learned about Davis and Kyle's mother and how psycho she is. I'm starting to think that Cass isn't the only thing that killed David. His Mother seems to have possibly contributed to his death.

Maricar T. said...

entry #3 (per.6)

i think my predictions in my last post were right about cass not being the only reason on why david killed himself. kyle has been telling cass memories on how his and davids mom treated them both. kyle was like the golden child while david was the unwanted one. this situation reminds me of the book 'A Child Called It' because the leading role boy was treated like scum and David was simularly treated like scum but not so much. i think that cass is really strong so far because she thinks before she talks to kyle so he won't leave her alone. i feel sorry for cass because she needs someone to talk to alot so i've noticed.

Charis Guinto said...

(Entry #3)
well it scared me when Kyle said "Burying someone alive pretty guarantees you the edge."
Cass is strong and pretty clever. She thinks before she speaks. Making her a prometheus. I still don't understand the note that was left stabbed into David's body. "Words are teeth. and they eat me alive. feed on my corpse." Maybe it's saying that the words were eating him alive and thought if he died the words would just stop hurting hm piece by piece so he killed himself because of things osomeone said or some people told him.
Cass may have to learn to mature by getting over loving only herself too much while Kyle has to forgive and forget what had happened to this brother.

I really like this book. I love the suspense and craziness of it. It's not a story you hear everyday and very original. I think it's funny how Cass's mother isn't i her life and yet, Cass is a very strong character. She stands up for herself and is known as the queen bee of her school. You would think that someone without a mother would not have that personality.

Josselyn G. -Per 6 :) said...

-* Entry # 4

i honestly love this book. I also agree with natalie it is kinda of funny how her mother is not in her life and she is still a strong girl. But at the same time i find it sad to read the situation that she was put into. But i really don't blame her for leaving because she was being treated like an outsider and she was not treated like a mother or a wife. Also because she didnt try to leave her daughter , she did think about taking her but she knew that her daughter would not be happy there. I was also suprised to know that Cass was like a popular pretty and a mean girl like behind peoples back. Also i was not really suprised to see her have plans to win people over , knowing that her dad is like teaching her all this smart ways to get what they want.
I'm still wondering if she is going to die in the box. Honestly at the moment i think she will , but at the same time i think she is going to be found by someone and she will be alive.

Annam B. said...

Per.6 [Entry#4]

I honestly love this book now. I learn more about Kyle's mom along with Cass's mom, there not the same at all. I think it's stupid how Kyle judged Cass by what her father did to her mother. On my last post, I think I was right by saying that the mother is probably the reason why David commited suicide, but Kyle doesn't see it that way. If I was trapped in a box for 2 or 3 days I would die, but unlike me Cass is trying to find a way out. It's a good thing that her father teached her all these thing because it actually would work. I think it's stupid how Kyle would do this to Cass when obviously Kyle died because his mother wouldn't accept him. He couldn't really do anything to his mom, like bury her in a box and leave her there. I still am wondering if Cass will come out alive or if she'll die.

So far the book is really interesting and good. However the flashbacks and the things the is currently going on is still confusing me. I really like how Cass is is like thinking one step ahead. I really like how shes being calm even though she under ground and stuff in a box. I also really like Cass's personality.
What is wrong with Kyle burying somebody is one of the worst thing a person can do. I think that Cass dad really cares for her.

on page 102
" Words are teeth. And they eat me alive. Feed on my corpse instead."
i thought that was a very distubing quote.

The book is really good so far. The book is getting really interesting . It going in depth about the details in David's life. Kyle really took care of David but i think Kyle took it to the next step when he kidnapped cass and buried he under ground. Caring for your brother is okay but that doesn't mean you have to kill or bury someone alive to get conclusion.
Im in the part where Kyle is telling cass about his mother and i cant believe that he would marry their dad just because she wants to marry a doctor. I just found out about the problems they had with their mom. So i don't think that it was Cass's note that drove David to killing himself. I think that most of it were because of his mother. David and Kyle's mom is really mean and it not nice to treat David like that.

As the more i read the book it seems to be getting more interesting. There is a lot of detail in this book which helps out a lot. David kills himself in the book. I agree with some other people how they also think that David's mother had something to do with his death. I agree with Josselyn that I think his mother was a bad mother for the way she treated the kids.

Cass McBride doesn't have her mother in her life because she left her. Its sad to know that Cass was put in that situation like Josselyn said. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have my mom in my life. Cass is a girl that is strong, pretty, and the queen bee of her school. She stands up for herself and I agree with Natalie that I was surprised that a girl like that without a mother in her life can have that kind of personality. But I cant wait to see if Cass is going to die or not.

Cass i know has been in the box for over 24 hours now.
Cass is not as nice as she'd seem. She rejected David and wrote a note to her friend. Kyle asked about why she wrote the note. What she said wasn't suprising but it wasn't very nice. She wrote it because she felt if she put people down she would feel good.
It scared me when he started slamming the ground with the shovel. I thought he was ready to kill her.
This book is okay it's very dark and creepy with lots of cursing.

my opinion of the book now that it is almost coming to the end is that i think it is great! even though i am not done with it, my questions i had in my head before in the past are being answered. also, some of my predictions that i had about the book really happened! i predicted that david didn't kill himself just because of cass. his mom had something to do with it obviously because she was a horrible mother to david. cass is still in a box underground and she just cant wait to get out and get a swing on kyle but she's to weak. i'm so close to finishing the book and i can't wait to find out what happens next!

While Cass is underground she feels dehiderated, its hard to talk. And her head hurts because kyle keeps banging the shovel on the caskit. Erica,Casses best friend is being interviewed. She tells the cops that Cass doesnt have any enimies. She also told them that Cass wanted to have a captin of a team be her date for homecoming because she will get the team votes. The king cant be elected. As soon as homecoming is over and she is done with the king she will find a girl that is in love with this guy and set them up.

The book rushes straight into the mind of the offender. Which threw me off a bit because I predicted that this book would be the same as any mystery story. Offender commits a crime, and someone catches the offender. However, this tale is completely different. Since every chapter is told from a different perspective, the book travels from past to present (telling Cass' story first hand). So far it is a surprising thriller that is completely unpredictable.

Robby G. said...

Entry 2
The more and more I read this book, the more I enjoy it. The story is starting to pick up now because its revealing why Cass is in the box. The parts where it switches to Cass' point of view are the best. The book becomes very descriptive and intense. The parts where it is Kyle's point of view are my second favorite because it elaborates on the reasoning behind the crime. However the parts in which it is Ben's point of view are my least favorite because they are not as suspenseful.

Robby G. said...

Entry 3
Even more answers are revealing. I now know Kyle's complete reasoning behind the crime and I am learning more about the suicide. I also learned how David asked Cass out. This book is pretty good so far and I do not have much bad to say except for the parts with Ben. The story kind of drags when it is his perspective because I do not find out anything I did not already know.

Robby G. said...

The book has arrived at a stop and I seemed to enjoy it. All the questions have been answered and I feel the least bit unsatisfied. I only wish there was a little bit more suspense (and knowing that Cass was going to die from the beginning did not help). Also the book seemed short. However overall this book was interesting, thrilling and it makes you think.

I really enjoyed this book. I think the ending was kind of predictable but I didn't guess Kyle would go after his mother like that. I didn't like ho Kyle just gave in and told the police where Cass was. It was not the best way to give in. I think if he would have asked for something in return that would have been more devious.

This book was great but it was stupid at the end because it's predictable that David would actually go to jail for burying Cass. I didn't know that Kyle would actually go after his mom like that when Cass said so. I thought that he wouldn't tell them he would actually ask for something in return and that would've been a good ending, but this ending is okay. I always knew that Cass would come out alive, knowing her ways. I liked how the mom and dad actually cooperated with each other to keep Cass happy. All in all I loved this book !

This book was really goood , i love it. The only thing i didnt like was the way Kyle killed himself, but at the same time i liked how his brother defended him but he didnt really defend him in the right way. I didnt really like how he would get really mad to just think about the pain his mom but him & his brother in and he would take out the pain on Cass. I thought that was really unfair but at the same time she was there for a reason. Which by the way was a really stupid reason for him to buried her alive, maybe he could of like done something different like throw food at her or something . I liked how i could really picture all the scenes, that was really cool. I also like how Cass mother was their in the hospital to see her baby girl even after all the pain she went through, i also liked how cass was really smart to keep herself alive in that box and how she was trying to think positive.
Overall i really liked this book :] I'm really glad that cass didn't die in that box.

The story has been pretty good. It's also been evil, cruel, creepy sick, confusing and interesting. Now i understand why Daid would choose Cass not just because of her "popularity" or how pretty she was but because she was just like his mom. His mother didn't really love David she thought he was helpless and pitiful.Cass figured out that the note wasn't for her but for David's mother. How cruel she was and and how she tortured made her realieit was her. "It starts with her."
Kyle was really upset with his mother so upset he put a knife to her throatand tried pushing her down the stairs.
The pages are getting more and more intense Cass's thoughts oing darker. Kyle losing control and telling the cops "I did it." Finally she's found and in the hospital. She matured by learning about other's pain and she listens insteads of speaks. "Words are teeth. And they eat me alive. Feed on my corpse instead." This was to his mother who brought him to his decision a choice that could've been avoided but no one stopped the pain. His mother maybe horrible but she needed a wake up call. This shouldn't have been it.

At the starting of the book I hated it. Now that I am done with the book im glad I hade the chance to read it. Casses father is in debt. Cass is still in the box. She is to dehydrated to even talk. Kyle driziled enough water down the tube so her tongue wasnt swolen and so she could talk to him. David picked Cass to ask out because she was the girl who was like his mother. Cass is trying to convinse Kyle that his mom killed david and it was not a suiside. Cass is trying to blame his death on his mom so that she can get out of the box. After this happens kyle drives to his mothers house pulls her out of bed by her hair and puts a kitchen knife to her throut.

okay, so i finished the book 'what happened to cass mcbride?' and i have some opinions on it. the ending just confused me and i thought everything about the book was good except the end. i wanna know what happened to kyles mom. i want to know if time passed with cass because with her condition, time couldv'e passed. overall, i liked the book. it was full of good characters and such a good plot. the book was a bit twisted. throughout the whole book, i thought kyle was such a pycho path. i like how cass' mom came to see her in the hospital. it's good cass didn't die.
it was a bit obvious that she would end up alive though. i sort of liked this book and i hope whoever reads it enjoys it and says there opinions.

Every time I finish a chapter in the book, I always ask myself why hasn't Kyle hurt Cass more than what he's doing? And another question that runs through my mind is that why haven't the police interviewed David and Kyle's parents about Cass' disappearance?

Elizabeth Q.-Per. 3 said...

When I finish the book I felt sadness towards Kyle and David's mother because in the end Kyle ended up killing his mother because he blamed her for everything that happened around him like the death of his brother and how he constantly had to keep on eye on David.
