1.One of the things I dont understand right now is why would Morrie even think of not making the best of the rest of his life? Why would someone just wait to die lonely and in the wrong attitude? Why would Morrie sit and just think of his death? That would not even be a consideration or thought for me. I would try my best to be positive and do everything I can to die happy with no regrets in my life.
2.I can defietly connect to this novel because I have been in a situation where I was not sure what decision to make and how would it affect me. It was a time when I was in the hospital for five months of a pneumonia. It seemed like my lungs were getting better by ex-rays but I did not feel any better. So i didnt know if I should keep trying to breathe better and trying to release mucus or should I just give up and be negative. Because thats how I felt worthless, like crap and I wanted to stop wasting my energy doing what the doctors told to do. I was unsure of what to do, keep trying and maybe feel better or stop trying and stop wasting my energy.
3.One of the messages in this story so far is to appreciate the life you have because it can be taken away at any time. And I dont know if Morrie appreciates his life, he really never mentions or shows much of appreciation or unappreciation. But I know its hard for him to live the rest of his life because knowing your going to die is tough. The thought of death is scary and feared because life is good and fun,so we try to forget about death but the truth is we can die at any second of any day. So as long as you live appreciate everyday of life and know death can come at any time.
4. What I found intersting about the book so far is the students life of how he wanted a specific career and then he failed to obtain the career. Then he just chose any good paying job. But he shows not much dislikes or likes about his job he just likes the pay. The students shows compassion by being nice to everybody and really expressing his like for Morrie, he really cares for people and has a good heart so far.
My reaction so far to the book is that Morrie has a brave heart. I think he has a brave heart because he says that he does not want to be depressed when he dies. He is going through difficult times in his life and yet he still continues to do most of what he did in his earlier years. I also think this because of what he does to go to the bathroom and even during a class, and he is not afraid of what people might think. So far, I think that Mitch is trying to feel compassionate that his favorite professor is dying, but is afraid to show it. Why I feel this is because during the event when he sees Morrie in his car and does what he did to pretend that he didn't see Morrie. But eventually, they talk to each other and remember old times. I also think that Morrie is a smart guy because for one, he is a professor at a college. Also, of what he does instead of waiting until he dies and everyone talking about him after his death. In addition, he decides to make a documentary of his death and how he slowly is dying day by day. These are reasons why i think that Morrie is smart person unlike most people. Finally, I think this book is a good book because it starts off with a tragedy, which makes me want to read more of what happens next. Also, the two characters, Mitch and Morrie, eventually meet each other which makes me now want to read more because now these two characters who haven't seen each other in about sixteen years, meet again and Mitch finds out his favorite professor, Morrie, is now dying. This book so far is amazing, it is probably the best books i read so far because for one reason it is a true story and explains what the real world is like and how harsh the world can be on some people.
From further reading this book, I can clearly see for a fact that Morrie really does have a brave heart. I think this because of not only of what is happening to him, but also of what happened to his mother when he was only a child. Also of what happened to his uncle, which he thought it would happen to him but it was brother. I think that Morrie is also kind because even though every time Mitch visits with bags of food so that he is helping Morrie and since he knows Morrie loves food. After a while though, Morrie has no use for these foods because of what has happened even further of his disease. He does not tell Mitch to stop bring him food because he does not want to hurt Mitch's feelings. So there is a large amount of food left in Morrie's refrigerator. This book is getting even better as it continues, but I feel that there are some things missing. But, it is a really good book. It explains how life should be lived and how people are only sleepwalking though life and are not fully awake to indulge in life's greatest benefits. My favorite quotation from this book is, " Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live." Morrie tells this to Mitch a couple of times. But, it is my favorite quotation because it makes sense. It makes sense because when a person learns about his or her death, they begin to realize the essentials of life and begin to value life more.
Jorge A `1. in the book the basic life of Morrie leads to him learning to appreciate his life and to make the most of it. Know hes learning to make the most of it with other people thet care for and want him to have the rest of his life in happiness. 2. I can relate to this novel because because i know someone who i feel comfortable around and would probably choose to spend the rest of my life with. And I would do what morie does with his student go to lunch ,have a conversation, or just hang out with each other. Thats how Morrie feels about his student he feels that there very good friends. 3. One of the messages in this story is that with a friend life can be easier. Because in the beginnig of the book Morrie was thinking of dieing linel and just waiting for death. But now with a friend he likes life and wants to have his student around to be happy and make the best of the rest of his life. 4. What i find interesting in this book is the age difference between these two men. One man is like 24 and Morrie is like 70, just old and these men are friends. Not many men in that age difference are very good friends. Thats whats interesting right now in th book.
Now that I have finished the book, I can now say that this was definably one of the greatest books I ever read. One main reason is because it is a true story. Also, I like this book because it explains on how life should be lived and not on how people are always wanting more and more better things in life and not being happy for what they already have. There is a lot of meaningful words of advice in this book. The book ended like I thought it would. Not much of a surprise, but it wasn't boring like the endings you expect something was going to happen. The ending is put in words that make a normal boring ending to something very meaningful and thought provoking. If I had to rate this book, I would probably rate this book four and a half star out of five. This is because it is a good book and has an even better ending, but it is probably not going to be the best book there is.
Jorge A 1. I am almost finished with the book and now there are not many things that i misunderstand. Because Morries life is coming to a happy end the student has a wonderful relationship and both of there lives have changed tremendously because there friends and they have experienced things and feelings together. Morrie is going to die. And thats what theyve experienced and the student has to watch his best friend die throuout the story, very sad and hard to know. 2. I connect to the novel by knowing i have gone through events with a frien d like this also and its tough to know these things. But as friends we stuck together and kept building our relationship. Going through obstacles everyday that made sad or angry but we were with eachther throu the good and the bad like Morrie and the student. 3. One message in the story is to have hope. throughout the beginning of the story that is what Morrie was missing hope and he found it and it changed his life.It made things change in a good way. Because with that hope Morrie spent the rest of his life not alone, deoressed, and bored but with a frienpyd, happy ,and entertained. 4. This is a very good book to read so far and like it. i like the maturity of the book and it was a book that i did not get bored readng. I would recomend it to people who are mature and think about the messages in the book.
