after reading 77 pages of this book, i think its really good. After what happened at the party, i cant imagine feeling what trixie's dad feels after finding out that his daughter has been raped. What i dont understand is why his wife, laura, is being unfaithful to him, after everything he's done for her. and when she shows up at the hospital when trixie is being examened i wonder how she felt. if she even felt a little guilty for not being at home when trixie showed up and her father found her in the bathroom just laying there. I like that the book has alot of details when they were at her friends house, right before everything happened. I think trixie should have been more careful to what she was doing. I know that she tried to stop her exboyfriend from raping her but she shouldn't have done what she did in the first place. Im enjoying this book so far, and i cant wait to find out whats going to happen next.
Well I read 72 pages and this book is already very intense. the girl Trixie is a very lucky girl. She went out with this junior hockey player who is very popular. And in this case going out with him made her popular by association. He eventually breaks up with her and life seems all down hill. Her friend Zephyr is the girl that lives for the moment. She tells Trixie that it will be alright, becuase she will have a party and invite Jason and some other people. Jason by the way is the Hockey player. Trixie gets out of the house by telling her parents a lie. She first goes to Seth some guy that likes Laura. Laura is Trixies mother. Trixie buys some drugs from Seth to get high for the night. I also forgot to mention that Trixie borrowed her moms clothes to go to the party. So when Trixie arrives at the party, Zephyr offers her some lip gloss and other stuff that makes her look hot. Her goal is to get Jason jealous by her doing stuff with other guys. She does do some intense stuff with the guys because she is high but still. It eventually is Trixie, Zephyr, Jason and his best friend Moss. They play strip poker and then Trixie loses on purpose and takes off all her clothes and sits on top of Moss. Moss then secretly takes a picture of her then gets punched in the face by Jason. Trixie is afraid because of this. She then goes into the bathroom to think about what has happened. Jason comes in and asks if she is ok and if she needs a ride. He gives her a kiss on the forehead, then she gives him a kiss. They take this into a bedroom and things start to get serious. Meanwhile her father is at home and then hears a noise. He looks in the bathroom and finds Trixie laying in a corner. They rush to the hospital and seek a sexual abuse advocate. They take tests and figure out what is going on. This book seems very serious. Even though this book may be somewhat girly from the cover with the pink flowers. I am enjoying it somewhat because this is how it seems now that I am in highschool I hear rumors and gossip and wonder if stuff is true. Things are starting to become a little less foggy about highschool. I will read on, but hopefully I will make it through. With 370 pages and small print I am in for a big adventure!

so far im on page 110. The start of the book was a little confusing to me. I didnt understand the thing about goin to hell and the levels of hell. But as i read on it became clear to what is hapeneing. Trixie is like a normal teenager. she had a popular boyfriend and like most girls she would b hurt after he breaks up with her. I also realize that the father has a past that is not mentioned often, i would like to learn more about that. I agree with vanessa, i dont understand how laura could be that unfaithful to Daniel. if i was in her shoes i would not be able to look at myself. I think laure needs to get everything straight. I also think that trixies friend Zephyr is not a true friend. she should have helped her bestfriend when she was crying on the floor instead of going off with some boy. The book has become more intresting. i think if you read this book you must be able to go handle a few disturbing parts. i have seen part of the movie and it is nothing like it. the book has so much detail and every little thing is important.
As i read the book i am still confused on what is happeneing.
i dont quiet get what lauras job is or what she teaches.
and at random points they pop people into the book that have nothing to do with the story such as the detecives daughter.
I think many people will think Trixie is lyin about what she accused Jason for. i also belive her father has a past that he doesnt want people to know about. i think since trixie has been throguh a lot she might feel like she has no one to come too. he mom has felt distant her dad and her have grown apart and her best friend turned out not to be that good of a friend.
I read 72 pages of the book and things are already starting to look interesting. I am amazed at how much stuff has went on in the beginning of the book. The main character of the book really proves to me that there are some people in the world that are just like her. But I also feel sorry for her because of the position she was in before. But I also do not because of the things she does to herself just for another person. I feel bad for the person she associates with because I think she needs help. I think she needs help because of the stuff she does. I like her father he has wide imagination. The main characters mom I do not really like. The main character reminds me of some people I know of today which is not a good thing. I forgot to mention that I liked the parts of Dantes Inferno because it speaks of hell and the degrees.
After reading more of the book, i was so surprised to find out what trixie decides to do. I like that what she did to her hair was only because she wouldnt want to feel like people are looking at her weird because of what happened but because of her new look. What i dont like about her friend,Zephyr, is that she decided to change towards trixie. After what she did to trixie at school, i think zephyr is really a true friend. Something else that was surprising to me was that trixie's mom finally told her truth about why things had started to change between her and her dad, I think that it made things worse, and it just brought more on trixie. I feel bad at times because of everything that shes going through. But at the same time, i think that maybe if she told the truth in the first place, things wouldnt go the way they're going. I think this book is really good and it just gets more exciting. It also is a little bit confusing because it talks about one thing and then switches to another. But so far the book is great.
I feel bad for Trixie. All that she had to go through this whole time. All the hassle she went through for what had happened to her. All the humiliation she felt when it all happened.Also after it happened of course people still make fun of her. In rea I like how Daniel her dad expresses his feelings in comics also. Its a good way to over dramatize the way he feels to show us how he feels. Zephyr from this standpoint feels seems like she has turned against Trixie. Im glad though that there are a bunch of people that are helping Trixie and gathering evidence to this rape case.
The ending of the book was really surprising to me I never thought that the characters would have done what they did. What I liked about the book is that Trixies dad, Daniel, tried to protect her from everything. I think he could have let her take responsibility so maybe she could tell the truth, I like how Trixie realized that what she wanted was a mistake and it seemed like she regretted it. I don't think she should have ran away because it drew more attention towards her and the police asked more questions. I think she shouldn't have done it because eventually the truth would come out sooner or later. Even though what she did was wrong, it gave her and her mom a chance to see where her dad came from and to see who he grew up with. although Trixie was alone for awhile she ended up meeting some nice people that helped her around and kept her company. I didn't think the ending was as confusing but their are some parts I didn't really understand. Overall I think the book was really good, I enjoyed reading it, and i liked the ending because it was really shocking and it's something that you didn't think would happen.
I dont understand why the mother is cheating on him. What did he do to her, I mean he;s practicly raising their daughter.Zephyr didnt really seem like a true freind at first, but now reading on in the book, i think she is a better freind than what i had thought. I mean her just leaving trixie there and walking away with some guy was rude. I think she realizez waht she did wrong and thats why shes changing. I like how the dad throughout the whole book draws away his pain. Instead of getting all upset, he draws it into a comic. I think that it was good the mother finally came out and told the dad what was going on with her. I dont think the dad really needed the extra stress at the time. But then again i think it was good timing because he could just be mad and upset all at once. I really like this book and think that there should be another book following this one.
I am toward the middle of the book and im not suprised by whats happening so far.I'm glad she starts to make changes with her life a little. Such as cutting her hair off and deciding to go back to school. THat shows everyone she is strong even after her ex rapes her. But a little while after she has a downfall and no one realizes it right away. I hope that her father and mother can get it togethr and fight through their problems so they can help there daughter
