TJ Brunning-i like this book becuase of how intense the story is. It shows how case is stuck under ground not knowing how she got there. My favorite part of the story so far is when case first wakes up under ground and finds the walkytalky. She has to talk on the walkytalky to see who is on the other one. The story is told by different charters in the book and it shows there point of view. So far the book is pretty good.

Chrissy M.- i think this book is really scary and creepy so far. I mean, who thinks of these scenarios? Is it a true story?
I think that kyle is very immature and weird. He should not take things so far, of torturing Cass. I get why he's angry, but that's crazy. He should just take out all the anger in positive ways and grieve like normal people do. But obviously he is not normal.
The thing that i do like though, is that Gail Giles(author) gives everyone's point of view. Its nice to see how kyle, Cass, and the detective Ben, are dealing with all of it. But its kinda weird how everyone's in a different time of the plot. Like kyles point of view is after what he did, cass's point of view is during what kyle's doing to her, and ben's point of view is a little after cass's kidnapping.

The good thing about the book is, that it makes me want to read on and see what happens next. :]

Rushda Hawa- I thought that this book is really weird and scary and interesting. I thought that the book was weird because in the beginning of the book Cass McBride was stuck underground in a coffin with nothing but a walky-talky. that would be really scary for me. I would never be able to do anything like that.
The scary part of the book is that someone randomly put a girl in a coffin just to take revenge on. If they wanted to do something like that they could've just done something else and not something scary and dangerous. The reason i thought that the book is interesting is that the story is really different from the books that i have read in my life. Also the author came up with a really good theme for the book.
i can't wait to read the next part of the book because i really want to find out what's going to happen next. So far i wouldn't recommend the book to anyone. =(

I think that the book is ok but its very intense plot line. One thing about this book is that it shows how high school kids are and what a honors student goes through. Yes there are maybe a few unnormal people in high shcool but kyle wow well he is really weird and mainly a creeper to me. If I was cass I would be really scared if this guy talked to me everyday and was "not cool". I also think that kyle is making such a big deal about it everyone knows that cass does not like him and he should just close the window on it.
One thing that i really like is how there are more than one person telling the story, its helpful cause you can see how the others view the situation. Even through i think the book is ok it still makes me want to read more of it, so far i give it a 5.

Erik Stojanoff- This book is turning out to be one of the best books that i have ever read. I like how the author uses all of the different point of views of each character. It shows the story from each person. One of my favorite part of the book was when it was in Cass's point of view when she woke up underground. The only thing that she had was a walkytalky. This part of the book gave a ton of suspense and made me wanting to read more. The one character so far that I dislike it Kyle. I think that he way over reacted to this situation. He doesn't have to go to the extent of putting her in this horrible experince that will scar her for life. Overall this book is going great. I can't wait to read on!!

Keenan M.- I think this book is a very interesting book but also very puzzling. The story starts out with three different characters (Cass, Kyle, and Ben) building up to the plot of story. At first when I started to read the book it was confusing because chapter by chapter it would change character and explain part of the story. But now that I have gotten farther into the book and understand what is currently happening, I am starting like the book.
I like how Kyle acts, while many people in the blog say he is strange, immature, scary, etc., I think he is also very bright. Maybe not in the most positive way but in the intellectual way. He is one of those people that can think out an entire plan and predict the outcome, I think he knew he was going to be arrested, so he took advantage of the situation and was able to torture Cass McBride as much as he wanted. I like how the author structured this character, I enjoy this thought out plan Kyle has made and just because Kyle has done that, I am enjoying the story.

Jessica Isho-So far this book is pretty good. I like the chapters that Case is the person talking becuse she is the one under ground and she is explaining how she feels. I think Kyle is really weird. He really shouldnt torture Case like this becuase she didnt literally kill his brother. This book makes me want to keep on reading to find out what is coming next and i really want to know how the story is going to end.

Julie S.-So far this book is really interesting. Cass so far seems like a nice girl, who didn't mean to harm anyone. But kyle is really creepy. I also like how the author narrated the book into three different point of views, from Kyle, Cass and Ben's. I understnad what Kyle is going through, but I wouldn't plan something that can harm another's life. Reading this books, it seems like a scary movie or something. I feel bad for Cass and she doesn't even know what is happening to her. This book is very interesting and grabs my attention, which is why I am curious to see what happens next. Something that was different from other books I have read is how they just start in different settings and with characters that haven't been introduced yet, but other than that it is a good book so far.

George M. Blog 1 - So far, i also think that the book is pretty scary, but interesting. It doesnt seem like something that would happen in your average day at school. People aren't that mean. I also like that the author gave everyones point of view. My favorites are Cass's and Kyle's, because their point of views are interesting. Ben, the detectives point of view is pretty boring, because he is trying to figure out what is happening and i already know, so i know if he is wrong or right. I also dont think that highschool students take drugs, drink, or smoke as often as they do in the book. Overall, i think it is pretty good so far, and i want to keep reading

Anonymous said...

Randy Tran- I think this book is very interesting because the author uses everyones point of view. This made the book more interesting and it also shows more details on what had happened. When i first read the book i was confused on who was doing what, but then i kept on reading. A part that caught my attention was when cass had woke up and she was in a coffin. All that she had was a walky talky. From this scene i wanted to keep reading on to figure out why kyle would torture her. A character that i don't like is kyle. I don't like him because i think he is making the situation even worse. So far i really like the book and i want to keep on reading it to find out why kyle is doing what he is doing.

Adrian T.-
At the beginning of the book i thought it was confusing because of how the points of view kept switching off between three different people. So far in the book a lot of action has happened that makes you want to keep reading and find out what happens to the characters. I think Cass knows how to take care of herself because Ted was telling her how to find out if a deal can be made with a person or not. This book just makes me want to keep on reading until the very end to find out the fate of its characters. So far i think this is a good book.

Tyler W.-The beginning of the book has been phenominal. It gives good detail about how Cass is stuck under the ground. The walky talky lying next to her i think was a good item put in the story so you can kind of imagine how it must feel to be down there with noones help an just a walky talky so someone can hear you suffer. The story keeps switching characters which to me makes alot of sense because it describes how each scenario is brought upon by a different person. Great book id give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Jessica Isho- As i read on in this book the story is getting more intense. This is is one book that actually makes me want to keep reading. My favorite character so far is Cass becuase i like the way she explains what is happening to her under ground. Also, i like the way Cass handles her problems. I like how she stays calm in a crsis and tries to figure out how to fix it. I hope the book continues to be action packed and exicting as i read on.

Anonymous said...

TJ Brunning-
now that i have been reading further in to the book it is getting more action packed.cass is trying to think of a way to get out the situation. if i was cass i would handle the situation the same way because she is tying to stay calm and focusing a way on how to get out. i hope that when i read on it gets more full filling and exciting. i wonder whats gunna happen next.

jewell L- the book is getting better but i still dont really lke it i thnk its just soo perdicable.
One thing that i really like that gail giles does is showing how different people view whats going on in the book. Another thing that stood out in the book when cass tells her friends that she would never date kyle...i soo thnk that he took it too far but i also think that was kinda mean oh her part too.

Rushda H.- As I kept on reading the book, the book got more and more interesting. I’m starting to like the book little now, but I also don't think that it’s a good book either because you can predict what the ending might be like. I mean is that I like stories when I read them not to predict the ending but as I’m reading throughout the book it’s more and more predictable. I like to be mysterious.
The way how the author is telling the book it’s really good because each main character talks in their point of view. My favorite character so far is Cass McBride. I like her because while she is stuck in a very uncomfortable coffin, she tells the story of what was going on in school with her. She tells why she might be stuck in the coffin.
The author Gail Giles tells the story really well with a great perspective. I can’t wait to keep on reading the book and find out what happens next in this novel. Still for the book I wouldn’t recommend the book to anyone to read until I find out what’s going to happen in the ending. =)

Keenan M- Unlike a couple other people in this blog, I am still enjoying my book. In the story Cass is still currently acting scared of death but now she is acting more maturely and trying to find out what she should do to get out of the situation. She has been trained by her father to analyze the situation and make the right decision to continue it or disengage it. Now I haven't exactly found out what she has done yet but I know she will find someway to get out of her box. Like others said, the story is very predictable, but that is how i feel with many books/movies/etc. I like the feeling of knowing what is going to happen, but the thing is I don't know how it is going to happen. That is the best part about reading for me, the discovery of whats going to happen next. Again i say this is still an intriguing story, a little to predictable, but the book is still enjoyable.

Julie S- So far this book is getting even more interesting. This book is a little different than any other books I have read because of how they narrate it from different point of views. In the story so far I am amazed that Cass is being mature and calm about her situation in a coffin, which is not the way I would react. And when she is telling her story of what happened, while in the coffin, she wrote a note that cased the worse situation shew can possibly think of. I am interested in reading more of this book, I'm not sure if I would recommened it yet because I have to read further.

Erik Stojanoff blog 2- This book so far is showing 1 main, but many god teacher qualities. For example this is persitent. When Cass is stuck underground she keeping calm and having the situation under control. When Kyle starts asking her questions about what happemed she is keeping calm and giving the response that kyle would like to hear instead of the negative point of view. This is showing persistence by giving the right response to each question. Without this quality, who knows what of happened to cass. I also would like to compliment on how well cass reacted to this and didn't freakout. IF I was there I wouldn't know what to do. This book is starting to come together really well and I am starting to really like this book. The three point of views are coming along, amd I am starting to understand the author and the characters really well. I can't wait to read on and finish the book!

Keenan M-
I have just finished the rest of my book and I am not satisfied with the outcome of the book. In my last blog I thought that some parts of the book were predictable but that was until i started to read the rest of the book. The author, Gail Giles, gave away the entire story thirty pages before it actually ended. I am definetly dissapointed with the author's work. But on the brightside I did like how the story ended. I'm not going to give the ending away but it was suprising. Of course I knew what was going to happen before I read it but I thought that the author planned it out in a smart way. Throughout the story I had to piece together each characters thoughts to understand the story. The story is structured that during each chapter one of the three main characters would talk about the situation they were in. At the end of the story all made sense and I thought the author did a great job with piecing together the story. But overall this story was not as good as i thought it would be. To be honest I would choose a Stephen King book over this book in a heart beat.

Erik Stojanoff Blog 3- WOW! I have just finished this book. I couldn't belive what just happened in the end. Responding back to Keenan M's blog entry 3 I thought it was hard to predict on what was going to happen. It kept wanting to read on and finish the book. The last 30 pages were just very suspensful and very well written. It pieced together all of the characters postions and views to eachother. Once I had gotten all of the sides of each person story, I understood David's reason for that awful decision that he made. The author Gail Giles had constuctred a very good novel. Overall this book was intelligent, smart, and a easy read which made me give it a 9 out of 10. I would recommend this book to someone who like mystery novels.

Rushda H.-This book was REALLY predictable. I did not like the book at all. Even though the author gave away the ending few pages ahead, the books ending was really bad. I already knew that the book was going to this but I didn’t expect it to do it few pages ahead. This book freaked me out a lot. I am still thinking about; just to give revenge to someone he didn’t have to burry someone alive and give that person a torture death. When Kyle did that to Cass, he was being really selfish and didn’t even know the whole story to it. The author did not do a really good job to this book. I understand that this book is a little different then other books but, the author could’ve made the book less predictable. The main complain I have from this book is that this book was predictable. I don’t like the books that are predictable at all. Like I said in the other blog entries, I hate the books that are predictable. I think that Kyle is really stupid for doing this because he knew that people are going to find out that he did it to Cass. As soon as Cass gets out of the grave she will tell on him and make him go to jail. For this book I would rate it a 2 out of 5 because this book is not really good.

FOLLOW UP QUESTION:

1. Why would Kyle do this to Cass if he knows that he will get caught in the end?
2. Why did Kyle tell Cass the stories about his mother?
3. Would Cass ever forgive Kyle?

The ending of this book was really predictable. I think the book was really good and the last 20 pages or so were really intense. When the ending came around i kinda felt like i knew it was going to end like that just by reading the first few chapters of the book. I think the book would have been better if the ending was changed. I wish the ending of the book wouldnt have been so predictable. Over all the book was pretty good. It had alot of intense moments and it kept me wanting to read more. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading and likes action packed books.

Jewell L The ending of this book was really predictable. I think that the book could of been beter(like more actions. One thing that i really liked about the book is how other people veiwd the book, that really help me see how the others were thinking.I kinda knew what was gonna happen when i started getting closer to the end.Over all i think that the book is ok and had a good idea but needed a better ending and alot more action.I would recommend this book to anyone who likes actionm but not to much of it beacuse to me there wasnt alot of it.

Julie S.-This book was really good. I enjoyed reading this book even though I had a good prediction of what was going to happen. I mostly liked this book because it was written in a good layout and Gail Giles (author) did an excellent job of showing different point of views without getting me confused. I enjoyed this book a lot, because I usually don't read mysterious and scary books. It was almost like watching a scary movie. I thought that it was very sad as I got to know Kyle throughout the story, beacuse some people might think he is crazy but he had many issues with his mother and now his brother. Cass on the other hand I feel bad for her too, but she didn't have to be so rude to poor David. The ending was good even though I sort of predicted it. And I would reccomened this book to people who are interested into creepy and mysterious things. This book isn't one of my favorites but I would rate it a 7-8 out of 10.

I didnt like the end of the book because it wasnt very exciting. i think the ending would have been better if it was less predictable. I would recommend this book to people who like to read action packed stories.

The middle of the book is sort of like the beginning. We still didnt find out too much about anything, and i still find Bens point of view boring because i already know what happened and he is trying to figure it out. I also think that Cass would be more in pain since she has been laying down for about three days, without food or water. She also doesn't have fresh air. When Kyle was telling Cass about David, i think he was beginning to realize that it wasn't all Cass's fault, it was also his mothers fault and Cass didnt deserve all of that, well thats what i think should happen, and i cant wait to find out.

I thinks that this book like drags along, and is slow.

Its sad that cass does not have a very close relationship to her dad, because of him wanting the "perfect image" family. But the few conversations that they had, must of helped her because cass is using the strategies to help her get out of the box/coffin and survive.

I do take some of the weight off kyle from my first blog, because now i know that he had a lot of family issues and problems.

The good thing about the book thou, is that it keeps me reading because I really want to know how everything is going to turn out. But i do have a prediction.

Unlike everyone else i did not think that this book was very predictable. Maybe for some people, but not really me.

The ending actually surprised me. It was really like suspenseful and i had to finish the book. I couldn't just set it down and read it at another time.

I thought that this book was really creepy. I still want to know how the author came up with the whole idea. Like maybe if the story relates to her.
The three good points of the book were that Gail(author) gave everyone's point of view to see how they were dealing with it. It made it more interesting. Second, that the book made me want to finish it to see how everyone would end up. And third, after i finished it, it made me still think about it, and if i were put in a situation like that.
The only complaint i have is that the book was slow, and like i said before, it draged on.

I normally wouldn't read scary or mystery books, but i enjoyed this one. :]

I would rate "What happend to Cass McBride," an 7 or an 8 out of ten.

Tyler W.-I just liked to say the book is going quite well. It wouldnt of been my first choice if i found out about some of the information in the book but for sure its a good book. I like the way how Cass keeps her cool instead of provoking Kyle. Shes taking the necissary steps so she can ensure her survival. She does a great job of keeping calm and unlike me I would be very angry and say somethings I couldnt say on this blog. The intensity of the book is still rising an becoming more unbarable to put down. Not a first round pick but definately a steal in the second =D.

I gladly just finished the book and the ending was good I must say. Near the ending, everything came into place and I actually understood the story. Even though it may have been predictable in places, I would recommend this book to other people if they have a taste in suspense like books. I have no questions for the book, but overall, this is a good book. I have nothing else to say.

Adrian Tibrea- I think this book is really intense. There is a lot of action in it which makes me want to keep reading to find out what happens. I thought that at the beginning of the book it was pretty confusin because of the different points of view. Now i adapted to this and the story is great. I still get a little confused about how the story is told from different times, Ben = before, Cass = present, Kyle = after. If I had to rate this book from 1-10 I'd give it a 17.

Adrian Tibrea- This book has kept me from being bored so many times. I always read this book because it is very interesting. I like the way the author describes all the scenes. I always look forward to reading the next chapter and then i find myself reading a ton of pages. I can't wait to finish this book, but i am still a little bit confused about the points of view.

Tyler W-I had just finished the book an I must say it was a great book. Like i said in the beginning not a first round draft pick but definately a steal out of the second round. The book to me literally was a page turner an had a great plot and great sensory detail. The ending yes was a little predictable but i enjoyed it. This book was like a big puzzle, you had to know some parts exactly so you can get what happens to the other parts. I recommend this book to anyone who doesnt like to read but wants to find a way to read an get a good grade while doing it. This book is excellent an i will like to read more by this author whenever a new report comes about.

So far I am enjoying the book. I think it is really intense. I am really looking forward to seeing if Cass gets out of the situation she is put in. One thing I really don’t like is the way the book switches off to different points of views, it is very confusing to me.

I am in the middle of the book. I still think this book is very interesting and scary. The situation Cass is put in is really intense, because she has no control over the situation. At this point Kyle is being questioned by Ben, I think Kyle have dealt with the death in another way, because what he is doing is just hurting Cass and her loved ones. I would have not been able to deal with her situation. I think this show’s what some kids who are “unpopular” go through. This book has opened my eyes to many problems some kid’s face. I also think I should think before I say or do something to some one.

I am really dissappointed with the ending of this book. I think i was looking forward to some thing way more crazier to happen, for instance for Cass to die or something. I wanted this to happen because that was what the book made it seem like was going to happen. The last 30 pages were very suspensful and made me want to keep reading. I was kind of upset because I kind of knew what was going to happen, I wanted more of a twist. I really wouldnt recommend this book to any one.
