At first I wasn't so sure I would enjoy this book but as I started to read it it just got better and better. Itis a shame how lily is treated by her dad and how rosaleen who isn't even her mother, treats her better. Rosaleen is black and so when she went in to town she got in to some trouble with white men and was beaten very badly. i was pleased when i found out that they were getting away from it all with eachother to go to tiburon. luckily they found the honeyhouse where they met the calender sisters who took them in. lily knows that this place and the sisters can tell her about her mom. lily is very intristed about her mothers life and wants to know everything she can about her.

I agree with Nicholas. I wasn't really interested in the book at first. As soon, as i started to read on more, i started to enjoy it. I think, it's a good book for kids, they would enjoy reading this book. It will bring a lot of positive energy because you see how Lily is treated. I think that even though Lily is treated bad by T.Ray she still is happy because she at least has Rosaleen there to help her out and comfort her.

Why do you believe T.Ray treated her bad?
- I think he treats her bad because she reminds him so much of her mom.

Well shes finally away from T.Ray and is getting to know more about her mom so that's a good thing. i hope this book keeps getting better and better.

i agree with Nicholas and Dyana. The book isn't all that interesting until you get under the real meaning and message it gives. I also agree with Dyana when she answers why T.Ray treats Lily badly, because she is a lot like her mother. I believe that Lily and Rosaleen have a a lot going for them when they go out on this journey. If you were Lily, would you go out on this journey to find out more about your mother? I would and im sure a lot of other people would as well. I want to see what else happens in the book and im positive it will get even better as the story goes on.

the book is still very good and it continues to improve. Lilly's life has been pretty rough up until this point and now she feels a sense of belonging. Now that she lives in the honey house she sort of has a family for once in her life and she sees how close the sisters are with each other.

some questions:
how does Lilly start thinking differently about what has happened in the past and how her life is changing now? explain.....

overall though this book is good and i would recommend it.

My response to Beyza's question; i would go on the journey to find out more about my mom. especially because it would get me away from T.Ray. It would give Lily a new taste of freedom. I think shes going to end up realizing how important she truly is.
I can't wait to find out the out come of the book. I'm enjoying it because it has meaning. I know every book has a meaning behind it but this book has a special something. :)

in response to nick's question, i think Lily is learning about peoples' differences and more about life itself. It's a good thing she's away from T.Ray because he was a bad influence and wasn't a good father figure for Lily. I think August is like a mother figure to Lily, she truly cares about her and wants her to know more about her mother. May seems like a sweet girl, but she has coping problems because of her sisters death. I think Lily's journey is just beginning and i cant wait to see how Lily changes into a mature person.

I agree with Beyza; this experience has really opened lily's eyes to see things different. For example; she realized that she can be cared for and loved and that in reality she does has someone there for her. Even though T.Ray hasn't been the best father figure as Beyza said, Lily has still made it through life. Also, Shes more aware of life and how it treats people . Throughout this journey she has mitured and time away from T.Ray has helped her find her inner self.

this book is really good it has had its happy and very sad moments and i like that because it's diffrant then the others i've read. lilly is now in a family and feels that she belongs belongs. a question i have is what do dou think T-Ray is going through now and what is he feeling?

this book is an incredible story of life changing events that are hard for a teenage girl like lily to go through. in response to nick's question, T.Ray reacts badly to this change but i think over time he will except it and realize how badly he treated lily. without T Ray, lily has learned more about herself and she see's that she is loved and cared about by these three sisters that are basically strangers to her. She is very mature and inderstanding for her age and i admire that greatly, i could never do what lily do and i look up to her for that. im sure this book will have a great ending that raps up the book in an interesting way.

as the book is coming to its end, its rapping up the story. im not that surprised that May did what she did, because she was an unhappy person and i believe that she knew that everything would be okay, she just didnt want to live anymore. I'm glad Lily told the truth about her past and trusts the remaining sisters to except it. Lily has found mother figures and she feels lucky for that; she finally feels loved. Lily should stay with her new family because she is cared for there. im sure this book will tie up all its ends and have a great ending.

In reguard to nicks question ; I think that T-Ray is going through a lot because now he sees that Lily doesn't just need him, that she can do good all by her self . In some way I feel that roseallen feels kind of left out because before Lily payed more attention to her, but now Lily has her eyes set on more things. Even though I believe they are all happy living together. Its a good thing that lily finally came out with the truth because now she can get more help. I also saw it coming that May was going to kill her self .. I don't think it was a good idea; but it was a good thing for her because as Beyza said she wasn't happy. Now she is finally free from all the bad thoughts . Over all this book has been great .

I Finished the book to early and ididn'y have nothing to wright for my fourth entry, so i think i should do this entry on why you should read it ; it has a lot of meaning to it . Its very heart felt. The things Lily goes through to find this happines is amazing. She might of had a ruff life; but through it all she kept her head up and was always positive. Even though some of it may had been a little bit hard to grasp and comprehead ; at the end of it; you realize the true meaning behind it.

I have to say that this was a great book. lily learned how to grow up during the book, she learned how to let love in and trust others again. she has found mother figures and got rid of a bad influence, T. Ray. i wasnt surprised when T. Ray came back, but i was surprised when lily apologized and when he in, some way, accepts it. im happy that lily is staying with her new family, its the best for her and probably the best for T. Ray. one question i have is would lily and T. Ray ever see each other again? he is her father after all, i think they should still keep in touch. also, i believe it was the right thing that may had given up her life. she wasnt happy and now she is in a better place with her sister, i think the sisters and lily know that and thats how they are able to move on. this book was honestly incredible and i was sad to see it end. the topic of god teachers fit in nicely with this book, the sisters were like mentors and had god teacher characteristics. Lily is where she is supposed to be now, she found where she fits in and im happy for her.

This book should me how to care about things. It shows me that in some ways i do have it easy; easier than Lily that is. I'm thankful that i have a family that loves and cares about me. I'm glad lily found her happy place. I'm very proud of her because with the help the sisters gave her, she pulled through it. She has became very independent. She has grown strength both mentally and physically. She has really matured and i think she has learned to value what she has been given.
