So far I really like this book. I am on page 75 or something and they are inside of seaworld. I think that it is exciting how they sneak out and go on around town breaking and entering but not at the same time. I also like the attitude Margo has twoards life. -Amy M.

Amy,

Say more about Margo's attitude; how is it that she sees life and why do you find it so interesting?

Delia A. said...

so in the book im the 2 part iguess if you want to call it that. margos gone missing now and most people arent so worried about it because shes done it before. but Q starts to get worried kind of because he was just with her a few hours earlier in the morning. i really like the book so far. margo seems to not be afraid of anything and she likes taking a lot of risks. she knows her way around things like in sea world when they get caught by the security guard.
anyways, its hard to put the book down because there are many rising and falling actions and overall its good so far and i cant wait to learn what happens.

I agree with Amy because the seaworld part does seem like fun. Margo is the kind of girl that is care free and lives by her own rules and it is interesting because of the affect she has on people. Not many of the other characters are like Margo.

So far I really love this book and i'm glad I picked this book. I love how Margo is doing many pranks but always has a reason to do it, so Q can't do anything about it. I'm in the second part of the book, where Margo goes missing, and everyone is scared about it. Mostly Q is scared about it because he was with her the night before. I think she probably died, because I remember how she said that the "dead guy's" last string was gone, and she said the same thing which makes me believe she might of died. It seems like Margo knows her way around the town and she's not afraid of anyone or what might happen she just wants to have fun. Anyways, I really love this book, and i'm glad I actually picked this book. I can't put this book down because of the ups and downs. I can't wait to keep reading and find out what happened to her.

Unknown said...

period 3: Yeah i agree with Annam it is kind of susspicious how Margo said that when the man died all his strings borke and she said all of her strings had broken. Im also in part two and it is getting really suspensful, which i like in a book. I like Margos attitude because she is such a free spirited person.

i really like this book because its so realistic and exactly like my life is & how me and my friends joke around is how Q and his friends do. also like amy said, i like margos additude toward life.

also its really interesting how they sneak into places and it was really funny when they snuck into the wrong house. i like how its so exciting and unusual.

Natalie M. said...

I really like this book, like a lot. I like Margo's charcter the most because she is the most outgoing and fun. I love her pranks. They make me laugh and think how she is so clever. It's definatly the best revenge. I agree with what Amy said about Margo's attitude toward life. she's more care free and thats a lot more interesting to read.

so far the book is okay and i kind of understand what is happening. i kinda think that Quentin is jealous of Margo's boyfriend. its just so funny that Ben thinks that Quentin's mom is hot. i just think it is cool on how Margo always sneaks out of the house.this book is also very realistic. what i mean by that is that people can relate to the book because it is realistic.

Annam B. said...

I'm still on part two, and I'm so into the book! I don't get why Quentin is making such a big deal of Margo missing? I know he likes her and all, but I guess he's scared that she might have died because it's serious. It's really fun reading this book because she left so many clues and Quentin is trying to figure it out, just when you think oh she'll be found and they'll go to prom. You find out that Quentin didn't find her yet. Everybody thinks that since she did this many times before, she's totally fine, but Quentin doesn't think that at all. It's also interesting how he links all the clues together finds the solution, but noone believes him. I just hope Quentin finds her really soon and she's alright. I can't wait to find out where she is !

Rehma B---7th Period said...

this book seems good and all. i like the part where Q gets all worried that Margo has gone missing, because it is so cute that Q has a crush on Margo.

Natalie M.- 6th period said...

I have to disagree with Rehma about this book being realistic. If anything, I find this book very unrealistic. I have not heard of any teenage girls running away and leaving clues so people can find her. And the pranks she has pulled aren't exactly on the top of most teenage girls to-do lists. I'm not saying that I don't think it's genius, because it is, i just don't think it's a problem many people come across.

The book so far is really good. I like Margo and Q's relationship, it pulls the story together. The part when the security guard in Seaworld was funny. The book is interesting because of the things Margo and Q do, and the shopping list at the begining was very random but that shows Margos cleverness. I was surprised to see what Margo did with all those supplies. It pulls me in as a reader and makes me want to not put it down, I like the detail and I cant wait to finish the book.

So far up where I have read, I really like the book. I usually don't like reading, but when I find a book that I'm interested in, I'm excited to read the book again for more .. (: so far, I've read up to the part after Margo had forced Quentin to drive her to the store for materials for vandalizing. The day after that Margo had not shown up at school and was reported missing. I wouldn't call this book exactly 'suspenseful' but you do want to find out the explanation to certain things. I agree with Nasha and how the book seems realistic.
Margo seems pretty chill about any situation like how she reacted to when she was trying to sneak out but her father had seen her, but she still seemed to pull off her excuse. I'm excited to read mooreeee(:

so far im really enjoying the book because its still realistic. i love how Q and his friends are trying to piece together the clues. i really do think that Lacey is not part of margo's plan, that she really doesn't know whats going on. i wonder whats coming next. so far im really enjoy this book.

Nasha D - - - per. 7 said...

also, i agree with brittni, how shes so laid-back and chill about everything. also you really want to know how the book ends. and i kinda want Q and margo to end up being together. and i love how ben is chasing the prom queen (:

I'm on part three of the book. It's fun to read how Quentin and his friends are trying to piece together many of the clues they get, but they can't get to Margo. They're all trying and trying, but they always fail I think they'll probably find a clue that'll finally lead to where she is. I agree with what Natalie M. said, when she said this book is unrealistic. I think it's unrealistic because any teenager that runs away from her house, wouldn't leave clues so someone can find her. She would've run away so she can probably get the freedom she wants. Even though this book is unrealistic I still love this book. I can't wait to see where Margo is and why [:

nuI can not wait to finish this book! it is a lot of fun to read. I also like how this book can be read by both girls and boys; even though only girls are reading it now. I like how this book doesn't drag. A lot of books that I have to read tend to be long and boring. I like how this is very straight to the point.

In my opinion the book Paper Towns was a good book. I didn't like it as much as i thought i would but it's not bad either. So far Margo's missing and from my understanding Q really likes Margo. That is why he is so worried about her missing even though it's not something surprising for Margo to do. At times this book really confuses me but overall its interesting. I like how I can relate to the characters in this book. In my opinion it would be better for Margo to take things a little more seriously.

Hira said...

to Rehma B- I understand why you don't like the book. At times its really confusing and so u get bored easily but if you reread the parts you don't understand then it'll be more interesting. Also, the farther you get in the book the better it gets. If you ask me, its not as interesting as most of the other books I've read but its not that horrible either. Also Margo's fun and adventurous attitude would want you to keep reading more.I think it's easy for anyone to relate to Margo's outgoing attitude. I love how she likes to take risks and go on big adventures. That's how i can some what relate to Margo.

Jess Kushner said...

This book definitely has a lot of action and not just a lot, it is very interesting. The part where Radar, Ben & Q are searching for clues in Margo’s room was very smart and the way they thought amused me. Margo is very sneaky girl; those clues to me were very out of the ordinary. The book keeps pulling me in and I really would like to find out what happens next. The author’s description is what mainly keeps me drawn in other than the conflicts. I found the Troll Holes kind of funny because it was just like Margo’s rebel attitude and I hope there are more clues.
Q is also a key part that keeps me interested, not many people I know would drive around at 4:00am to pick someone up. I really like this book and now I really cannot wait to see where Margo is. The book builds up and becomes more and more suspenseful, not dull…very entertaining. I also like their screen names, they are funny. “Paper Towns” definitely will be a book that I will remember long after we are done.

so now im more than half way through the book, and im really wanting too see what happened to Margo. even though shes missing stil and Q found her nail polish and blanket in the strip mall i have a good feeling that shes still alive. but theres also a good chance that shes dead like how amy said that all her strings had broken. it leaves me doubting that she is alive.

Brittany P. said...

I was quite a bit behind in reading but I caught up today mostly. Today I read how Margo's parents didn't really care anymore about her running away because they had been getting tired of it from the times she had done it before & how shes 18 now so she could figure things out on her own. Then Quentin and his friends had heard about the clues Margo would usually leave for people to find her, and this time she left clues for Quentin so he could find her. So far all they found and know is the records & poem books & New York etc. I'm still enjoying the book so far but I was dissapointed to hear my group members telling me that it got really confusing at boring after a while.
I'll be reading more tonight definitely to catch up all the way and I'm still satesfied with the events in the book (:

now that Q is at the party to pick up Ben and the other guys, hes starting to talk to Lacey. shes really starting to open up while talking to Q about how Becca started saying that Lacey had an STD. while they talk she starts mentioning that she thinks Margo's dead and how Becca's like the new Margo. Q says that nobody can ever replace her which is right because no one was as free spirited or as adventerous as she was.
they were all to caring about prom and senior year and picking on freshman.
anyways, Q is really determind to find Margo. so far i have no lcue where he should look but i have a feeling he'll find her really soon where ever she is. only..6 chapters to go and another small section to go and then i find out what happens. cant wait (:

Many people above are saying that they were confused and started losing attention from the book but maybe they just didn't spend enough time to read over the parts that confused them. There were parts of the book where I was confused too, but sometime around after reading a couple more pages or looking back on some that I never really understood in the first place really helped me out. I'm reeeaally glad to read that Jess likes the book because all i've been hearing is mostly dislikes, but I'm still excited to read the rest.

so far the books getting interesting.I like how Margo is so creative with leaving her clues. Q seems very upset because he wanted to find Margo in time before prom. To Rehma- I admit that the book is confusing at times, but I re-read it over and over again or move on. I only have twenty pages left now. I'm going to finish it all up tommorrow. I can't wait to find out where Margo is and why she left in the first place. The only thing that keeps me reading is how Q is persistent and won't give up. Even though people are giving negative answers on this blog, It won't stop me from reading because this is one book I really really love! I remember when I went on a road trip how the same thing happened to us, not the whole accident but how, we had to switch drivers and sleep. I can't wait to read on and finish (:

There was one part in the book when Q and Ben got into a fight. This was because Ben refused to come over to Q's house and told Q not to come over either because he was feeling very bad and sick. I guess Q felt really bad because he helped Ben a lot. He felt that Ben could have been a little more considerate and thought about Q. Ben never really cared about Margo but Q was starting to feel like Ben didn't really care about him either. Q then calls Radar. He also uses Radars help to figure out the clues that Margo left them. At this point Q considers Radar as a better friend then Ben. I think Q shouldn't get too upset about Ben treating him this way. Ben wasn't feeling good so he told Q and I think Q should be a little a more understanding and not get upset over that. Also, I like the way Margo leaves really creative clues for them that might take a while to think about.

I am happy to be finishing this book. Im excited to finish the ending and find out what happens with Margo. I love the all the house parties because that is so high school. i really like Ben's character and how he's like the loser that gets the hot girl that everyone likes.

She would've run away so she can probably get the freedom she wants. Even though this book is unrealistic I still love this book. I can't wait to see where Margo is and why [:

To Rehma- I admit that the book is confusing at times, but I re-read it over and over again or move on. I only have twenty pages left now. I'm going to finish it all up tommorrow. I can't wait to find out where Margo is and why she left in the first place. The only thing that keeps me reading is how Q is persistent and won't give up. Even though people are giving negative answers on this blog, It won't stop me from reading because this is one book I really really love! I remember when I went on a road trip how the same thing happened to us, not the whole accident but how, we had to switch drivers and sleep. I can't wait to read on and finish (:

I agree with Amy because the seaworld part does seem like fun. Margo is the kind of girl that is care free and lives by her own rules and it is interesting because of the affect she has on people. Not many of the other characters are like Margo.

I am also more then half way through the book, this books detail has gotten stronger and I like the clues. The clues are random to me yet it makes the book unique.

I finished Paper Towns. This book was a great book, and it was not a waste of my time. I totally disagree with Rehma when she says that this book was a waste of her time. I loved this book, but I guess everyone has an opinion. This book kept me in throughout the whole book. I loved how Quentin a person like us was so persistent and compassionate. I predicted that Margo was dead by the way the book went, but I liked the way the book ended. I'm really glad I got my first choice, even everyone in my group loved the book. I am looking forward to the next theme ! :]

Q's personality has really surprised me, he seemed as if the good kid type until the end. It finally struck him that he CAN find Margo, he just had to wait for the right time, clues and situation. The book is most deffinately one of my favorite. I am now looking foward to reading more by this author!

i really like this book because its so realistic and exactly like my life is & how me and my friends joke around is how Q and his friends do. also like amy said, i like margos additude toward life.

also its really interesting how they sneak into places and it was really funny when they snuck into the wrong house. i like how its so exciting and unusual.

so far im really enjoying the book because its still realistic. i love how Q and his friends are trying to piece together the clues. i really do think that Lacey is not part of margo's plan, that she really doesn't know whats going on. i wonder whats coming next. so far im really enjoy this book.

I finished Paper Towns and I would say it's alright. I enjoyed the adventure and all the interesting events, but I agree with Nasha and how it kind of dragged because it seemed like they were straying from the main point a little. I dont think this book was a waste of my time, but I wish the ending was more surprising. It was a funny and exciting book. Glad I read it (:

In my opinion the ending of the book was great. The book overall wasnt that bad. At times it could get a little boreing but if you keep reading it'll get interesting. I suggest most teenagers to read this book because I'm sure a lot of people could relate to many of the characters in this book. Margo has a fun and lively personality and Q is sometimes confused about his feelings for Margo but he really likes her.
