At the beginning of this book, it was kind of hard for me to keep up for what was happening, because all they were doing was walking around the "states". When I was reading at around pg. 60, that's when everything got interesting. It turns out that the man and the boy are trying to get to the coast (which is a haven to them), with out getting killed by these people they encounter at pg 63-ish. Overall, this book has gotten a lot better for and hope it just gets even better.

Well the book so far is really going good. The beginning I was getting lost because it was really hard to understand what was happening but as the book progressed I started to get everything that was said. I'm on page 95 and the book just keeps getting better and better. The part that stood out to me that was sad was when the dad entered his old home where he grew up. That's just saying even if your as old as you are you can still remeber what happened in your childhood. What also makes the book sad is when the boy asks if they're going to die. He keeps asking that and that's what makes the story worth while to read to know if they're going to survive or not because it said the raisins were the last of the food. I really enjoy this book and I hope it gets better as it progresses.

This book is well written, so far I find it interesting and a book I can't let go, It's very detailed but can be a little confusing since there is no dialogue and since the dreams that the father has (they don't give his name yet) makes it confusing. I also like the way he uses his recourses and collects them, hes very smart and I know this book will get better.

So far I love this book. The beginning of the book was vary confusing. But as I've been reading it's getting easier. This book is about a man and a son that dont no of any civilization (good people) in there surroundings. They are running out of food and surviving on almost nothing, its vary cold out, and its hard to find a safe place for them to sleep and have no shelter. The boy is around seven or eight years of age and his mother died. He does not have any time to play and is scared that the bad people are going to kill them. All he has left is his father. They walk a huge amount of miles a day because they want to find the coast . This is one of my favorite books and I cant wait to finish it.

At the beginning of the book all that I found was boring description after description which really challenged my thinking power. All i found was that the man and the boy were heading down the road and though the book got boring around the first 50 pages or so, it really picked up with sequences of events that were not suspected. I love the way the author writes because after boring descriptions he suddenly brings up something interesting and my eyes immediately lock on that sentence. So far the book has gotten really interesting and at one point I actually felt a little fear and suspension. It gets better and better.

The book gets way better and easier to understand. As the book goes on they encounter more problems that they somehow manage to resolve in some lucky manner of skill or daringness of the father and the courage to be a big boy and not be scared by the boy. This book that I have read up to page 170, tells a great story of two people courageous enough to go out into the barren wasteland of the world and make something of everything they have most of all, each other.

The boy is vary scared because the man said if the bad guys find him he needs to put the gun in his mouth and pull the trigger.I think he is a vary brave little boy. I wonder what will happen next.

I really like this book cause the author really knows how to capture you. I know he caught me because I was reading in the dark at one point and i swear that i could actually smell what the author was describing. Its true that the descriptions are usually boring, but if you really use your imagination it can really capture you.

Around the middle of the book it gets very interesting as the man and the boy are seeing more people that are passing alone most of which are the bad guys. When they run out of food and when they found the shack with all the food that could last for months I almost felt like jumping in the air out of happiness.
Its true that the book started out as boring, but from where I'm reading boring would be out of the list of what i would say about this book.

This book gets really good. Like I said earlier it just good, but its even better now. throughout this story the boy and the man go through many struggling/ near death situations while starving, because they are two of the last people left i n the country. Overall, this book as gotten a lot better since and more intense (and scarier) since the last time I wrote.

the other reason this book is really good is because the author uses many descriptive words to describe the situations the boy and man go through. the author makes every part seem like like is going to pop up and kill them. all in all, the author makes this book very suspenseful

I was on page 120 and now I’m on page 200 throughout these pages the man and the boy find a house and a door that leads to a cellar of some type and on the other side of this door there is tons of food and supplies that could last them for a long time. The man knows that they can’t stay here and finds a cart to put the food and supplies from the cellar while they travel and they head off. While there on the road they come across an old man that they give food to but the old man doesn’t really appreciate it. When they decide to rest they also come across a train and three men and a women but they don’t know if they are good or bad. The boy is very scared throughout this experience.

they have nothing to live for but each other and if the boy or man were to die the other character alive would want to die too. so far into this book it has basically been a thrill ride. when the man and the boy reach the ocean and there are no birds and the ocean isn't blue but the boy still wants to swim the author is saying even if you don't have something at your disposal, you have to make it so that is to your disposal like with the water and taking a quick swim or with finding that food storage a little while back. the boy and man have to check every little stop to find food and live longer or else they might starve. its basically reading between the lines and that's how all survival books should be like.

The Book has gotten way better. Its easier to understand and notice whats happening. Although I just wish that the book actually had dialogue, it would be so much more easier to read. The one part I still get confused with is the fathers dreams. Like when his kid and himself went to his old house he had a dream of his wife talking with him, at first I thought there was a person in the house that just popped out but I read it a few times and found out it was a dream.

The book has gotten more intense and bloody. The father killed a man that was a carnivore because he tried to touch his child. They had to run because there were more people on the road. The book is getting hard to put down, and they are finding more scattered body parts of dead people along the way.

Were I'm reading the book now, the book is turning out to be one of the best I've read. The man and his son have reached the end of their journey to their "sanctuary" or so they thought. They now see that it was not as they thought it was and death is nearing. Suspenseful and powerful. Now that I'm near the end of the book, I'm forgetting all the negative and boring things that i thought about this book. While reading though, I'm scared reading more because of what might happen. I'm also scared to go on because of the fact that as soon as im done with the book I can't go on the same journey i went on when i first started. But whether i like it or not, my curiosity is getting the best of me.

The man and the boy found an abandon house with some canned food, blankets, and other supplies they need. They stayed here for a while. By the time they reached the coast they were almost out of food. They boy really wanted to take a swim so he took his clothes off and went in naked when he got out it was freezing, his lips were chattering, and he was blue all over. The man wrapped the boy in a blanket. While they were sitting on the beach trying to get warm they stared out and they saw a gray sky with no birds, and no boats.

"You have to carry the fire," said the man.
"I don't know how to," stated the boy.
"yes you do," replied the man.
"is it real? The fire?" asked the boy.
"yes it is," replied the man.
"where is it?" asked the boy
"yes you do,it's inside you. Always has been and I can see it." stated the man.
One of parts from The Road that completely stood out to me through the whole book. It really tells that the father believes in the boy and the boy has this legacy to fulfill and when a stranger comes across the boy keeps it with him like his papa directed him to do and that's just really sad that he has to go with the stranger and not with his beloved papa. I enjoyed this book not only because it is has a little story and lessons between the lines but also because it just tells a tale between a man and a child fighting for survival trying to fine good guys and overcomeing obsticles in the way. Well I really enjoyed this book and I hope whoever reads the book will too.

This book really caught all of my attention. The ending was amazing as i didn't expect it nor did i WANT to accept it as the The man was indeed the most important. Definitely on my list of favorite books The Road has captured me with suspense the amazing sense of adventure and sadness. Even though u start the book wondering whats happening, as you read on you really lose interest as to what happened to America. Even though now that is a question that's plaguing my mind since i finished it, i was able to enjoy the fond memories of me getting yelled at by my parents for staying up so late reading the book. As i said before of me being afraid of finishing the book- i still hold on to that because i doubt any other book will be like this one, but i still have no regrets for reading this book that has a tendency to make it's readers hands clutch on the book till it's 5:30 in the morning and your too tired to go to your meeting or school.

The boy will really be saddened by his father death but he has new friends and family now that will take care and love him probably as much as his father did. In the book the man had to make a choice. wether to kill the man or let his son die. Eventually he killed him which kind of freaked me out because in the book he is loving and caring. they have more conflict on there journy to the coast. They are very close to there ditentation, which makes this book really hard to put down.

This book is great. When they get there they thought it would be better but wasnt what they acually though. It was very sad when they got robbed and at the very end when something big happended.

One of the best book i read. It was good all the way from the beganing till the end. I really enjoy reading The Road and now cant wait to see the movie come out. The conclusion to the book was sadning and wasnt wait they wanted or expected. This book is filled with tenstions and conflicts which is why I highly recommend a person should read The Road.
